About Me
Hi! I'm a current secondary English teacher with 12 years of full-time experience. I have expertise in grammar, composition, essays, public speaking, research, and reading comprehension.
About Me: I have been teaching and coaching since college. I was a D1 volleyball player and coached many high school teams and clinics. From there, I moved into the classroom. I have taught grades 6-12 and all levels of English Language Arts, including Advanced Placement (AP) Literature, AP Language & Composition, British/American/World Literature, Speech, and courses with honors components. I love teaching and have honed my own writing craft through blogging and tweeting! I help seniors compose their personal statements for college applications and have read literally thousands of essays over the course of my career.
Credentials:
--Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Loyola University Chicago
--Masters in Arts in Teaching in Secondary English from Boston College
--Bachelor of Arts in English from Boston College.
Tutoring Experience: I have tutored clients 1:1 ($75/hour) and in pairs ($120/hour) for several years, working on skills like essay drafting and revision, reading comprehension, public speaking, and standardized test preparation. I tutor middle and high school students on the writing process and assist with English Language Arts skill remediation and development. Clients hire me to help with everything from college essays to graduate school applications to dissertation manuscripts. I provide revisions and edits on written copy that do not require face-to-face meetings ($50/hour, billed by the hour).
I believe that experience and credentials matter. If you are looking for an educational expert who is a veteran in the classroom, you should hire a teacher. Trust experts in the field, like me!
